Description

The Te Roroa Kauri Ora project exists for the health, well-being, and future survival of kauri forests within the rohe of Te Roroa. The people of Te Roroa have a long connection with these taonga rakau rangatira due to the prominence and abundance of these taonga rakau within the rohe. We acknowledge the existence of kauri spanning beyond times of the earliest of Te Roroa ancestors, and alongside this we also acknowledge the present and future connections we have with our kauri.

This project within the Local Contexts hub acts as the primary portal for specific projects associated with operational activities and associated research projects pertaining to kauri health, well-being, and management, which are conducted under the guidance or in collaboration with the Te Roroa Kauri Ora team. The intent is to ensure connectivity of all Kauri Ora projects to a core Local Contexts project for ease of display.
