Project details

Description

In partnership with the Penobscot Nation Department of Natural Resources, conducted eDNA sampling every week for a month at sites with rock bags installed to survey benthic macroinvertebrates. eDNA collection entailed weekly water collection for filtering and installing passive eDNA filters - metaprobes - to test which method compared best to the rock bag identifications. eDNA analysis used a 12S primer, a broad COI primer, and a narrow/more targeted COI primer to compare primer performance and test for fish and benthic macroinvertebrate presence.
