Project details

Description

We performed whole-genome sequencing of bull kelp (Nereocystis luetkeana) and giant kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera) populations from the coastlines of British Columbia (Canada) and Washington (USA). We examined genetic relationships among kelp from different regions and assessed genetic health indicators for each population. Our aim is for the genetic knowledge we generated to aid in kelp conservation and restoration.
